Well for those who are just dying to know: I got my husband a gift card to Lowe's and made him a batch of brownies. These are two of his favorite things :-) I know the Lowe's gift card doesn't sound very romantic! I told him that whatever tool he buys (and it would need to be a tool, or something of a permanent nature) he could use it and think of me every time he uses it. That's the romantic part. Ha!
Here is what he did for me: First he took me to a jewelry store . . . . now don't get excited . . . I already knew the purpose of this visit ahead of time. My engagement ring has been too big for my finger for along time now (hence the REASON I lost it!!) and I haven't been wearing it ever since I found it that second time (under the bed because it had fallen off in the middle of the night). So I have a bare finger. I do NOT have my wedding band because it is permanently lost. So, for Valentine's Day, my engagement ring is getting re-sized. I'm so glad that this is getting done, and he knows this, and this speaks volumes for me because stepping inside a jewelry store is intimidating to me. I just feel out of my element, so to speak. While we were there . . . I peeked at a few wedding bands, JUST FOR FUN, of course. Now that my husband knows my exact ring size . . . I mean, it is just a lot more convenient for him. :-) Don't you think? I found the most gorgeous ring ever. I can't stop thinking about it. And the jewelry store owner discreetly showed my husband the calculator to the side while I was salivating at the ring on my finger . . . but I know the price. Let's just say YIKES. We'll be moving on now . . . . but it was gorgeous and perfect and he knows I'm not cheap. I'm about to save up my own money and buy it myself . . . but how tacky would that be to say I bought my own wedding band. Sigh . . . it's only diamonds and gold . . . . sigh. A girl can dream. I'll tell you this much: when I get my next ring, it's never coming off, and it will not be too big to FALL off. Thank goodness my first wedding band was from Walmart.
And for the second part of my Valentine's gift: my husband made me an awesome dinner. I had Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo, Salad with "Olive Garden Dressing", and Bread. Not only that . . . but my man cleaned up the entire kitchen! Now that's awesome! I don't know what I enjoyed more, the dinner or the cleaned-up kitchen!

:) The jewelry store visit sounds like fun, and I'm glad your ring is getting sized! I'm not wearing mine either, anymore, and that's because the diamond fell out (and my husband FOUND IT in our church sanctuary - wow, huh?)...so I need to get that fixed, too. Wish mine was in the jewelry shop at the moment like yours is! (And ooooh, I bet the wedding band is beautiful...dreaming with you...)
And yummy dinner! Although I think I'd be like you...almost more thrilled with the kitchen clean-up! ;)
Loved your post and the last couple as well (that I seem to have missed...I'm trying to step away from the computer and be the woman that God created me to be...I've been struggling with that for quite a while now.) It was fun hearing about your Valentine's Day and it sounds like it was very much a blessing!
I think a Lowe's gift card is totally romantic - definitely not thinking of yourself on that one :-).
I'll be getting my ring resized soon also... can't risk losing them again (I permanently lost my original wedding set when they sunk to the bottom of Lake Cumberland... :-().
Your V-Day sounds wonderful!!
